The  Federal Road Safety Commission, Imo State command has reminded all motorists of the need to obey traffic rules and regulation and to drive without  distractions  to avoid  loss of lives.

The new Corps Commander of the FRSC in the state Dr. Godwin Omiko made the remarks in an  interactive session with the corps  commanders.

Omiko  explained that over  speeding, phone calls while driving, and unnecessary distractions lead to  avoidable  road accidents.

He  warned  that his  Command would soon put in place,  a mobile court and road checkpoints for those drivers who might want to flout traffic laws with impunity.

He however, disclosed that his Command  would embark on robust enlightenment campaigns, which  would take the Command to the stakeholders the motor parks, courtesy  calls on all those who have some authority as well as enforcement .

He, therefore, urged the commanders  to reach out to all stakeholders for proper  sensitization  to enable  everybody to do what is right on the road. He  also pointed out that  the business of safe motoring was every bodies business.

The Corps  Commander, who had just been transferred from Kogi State commended the Commanders and his  predecesor for doing a good job, and promised to improve on their efforts.
