Fire Guts Station Market Kaduna

Tears flowed freely today by anguished traders of the popular Station Market in Kaduna Metropolis when fire gutted the market in the early hours of the morning today.
The popular Station Market which is located after the popular Kaduna Bridge is known for the sale of different types of fresh fruits brougt in by the traders from the Southern part and other parts of the country. The market is also known for the sale of Livestocks.
It could be recalled that the traders of the Station Market were formerly evicted from the former place adjacent to where they presently occupy due to the purchase of the market by a prominent politician.
The politician was said to have bought the large expanse of land to build an industry for the production of cement but the land is still without any building till date.
One of the trader who spoke to Daily Independent said she was alerted about the fire incidence by a neighbour at the early hours of today.
According to her, “we were relocated from the former place we were to this place and see now, this place has been gutted by fire. “Where do we go to now at this hard time that we are struggling to eat and pay bills. My sister do you know that I borrowed the money with which I started this bussiness? How I go pay back this money now?
According to some shop owners the fire was said to have  started due to  an electrical spark.
However, the governor of the state Mallam Nasiru el rufal has called on those affected to see what happened as an act of God.
