Brazil U-20 coach, Alexandre Gallo, believes that the Flying Eagles will be a tough opponent ahead of the team’s opening match at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

The five-time champions will play Nigeria on June 01 at the Stadium Taranaki New Plymouth, in a match that may go a long way in determining the fate of the two teams in group E.

In four of its last meetings with Nigeria, Brazil has won three and drawn one, scoring nine goals and conceded a goal.

However, Gallo does not believe in statistics and has warned his team to be wary of the current U-20 African champions.

“Nigeria always causes us problems. The team is a strong one, technically good with good players. ” Gallo said.

“Hungary has a typically European style – direct football, tall players. North Korea doesn’t have very technical players, but the team closes you down a lot, the team has speed and counter-attack intensely.”

Meanwhile, Musa Muhammed has revealed that the team “is not scared of facing Brazil” in its opening fixture of the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Musa, who captained the team to lift the Africa Youth Championship in Senegal, believed that Nigeria will play Brazil without fear.

“People talk about Brazil all the time but we also have other countries in our group. So for us it’s not just about Brazil, it’s about playing each game as they come and taking it from there.”

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that Flying Eagles will play U-23 teams of Hoffenheim, Nurnberg and Freiburg this month in Germany.

Flying Eagles will first play Hoffenheim U-23 on May 12th, Nurnberg U-23 on May 15th at the Sudwest Park.

These two matches will give Coach Manu Garba the opportunity of deciding his final 21-man team for the World Cup. Nigeria will submit a final squad to FIFA on May 15th.

The final test match is slated for Freiburg against the U-23 team of Freiburg on May 19th.

The team is due to fly out to New Zealand via Australia from Germany on May 23th.

Flying Eagles will begin its campaign on June 1st against the talented Brazilian side.
