FG, UN To Engage Private Sector On Sustainable Industrial Development

In pursuance of the commitment of the Federal Government and the United Nations (UN) to sustainable development, the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), Lagos and the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), will organise a Private Sector Engagement Workshop on Sustainable Industrial Development in Nigeria.
Mr. Oluseyi Soremekun, the National Information Oficer, UNIC Lagos, who announced this in Lagos on Monday said the workshop would hold on Wednesday April 13 at the Conference Hall of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN House, 77, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja Lagos,
Soremekun told Independent that the workshop would engage the Organised Private Sector (OPS) in discussing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with a view to stimulating strategic alignment between private sector business plans and the SDGs.
Hon. (Mrs.) Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on SDGs,and Ms Fatma Samoura, the Resident Coordinator of the UN system in Nigeria, Soremekun added, would be key speakers at the workshop.
The workshop, he added, would contribute to Goal 9 of the SDGs, which is ‘Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation.’
