A female armed robber, Maryam Musa, was on Tuesday sentenced to six-month imprisonment by a Bauchi Chief Magistrate Court.

Maryam Musa, a member of motorcycle snatching syndicate, was convicted by the magistrate court after pleading guilty as charged by the police. The 27-year-old mother of two was arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command last week.

While being paraded at the police headquarters in Bauchi, Maryam told newsmen that she was a widow and that she was not involved in the crime committed by members of the syndicate.

She was dragged to the Chief Magistrate’s Court VI in Bauchi alongside the other members of the syndicate on various charges, ranging from criminal conspiracy and theft of five motorcycles, receiving stolen property and having in her possession stolen property.
