Lagos – FC IfeanyiUba have dented Rangers’ title aspiration after the former defeated the Flying Antelopes 2-0 in Nnewi on Wednesday in one of the NPFL week 31 encounters.

The Nnewi side opened the scoring as early as the fifth minute through their Brazilian import, Alberico Barbosa, before Chijioke sealed the game for them ten minutes into the second half. Despite the result, Rangers still top the table with 50 points pending when the match between closest rivals, Wikki Tourists on 48 points, and Enyimba will be played.

In other results on Wednesday, Sunshine Stars compounded Ikorodu United woes with a 3-0 bashing in Akure. In Makurdi, Lobi Stars defeated Abia Warriors 3-2 while Rivers United boosted their title fight with a 1-0 win over relegation battlers, Heartland of Owerri.

In Lagos, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) forced visitors, Warri Wolves, to a 1-1 draw while El-Kannemi Warriors of Maiduguri forced shooting Stars to a goalless draw in Ibadan.

Meanwhile, the match between Enyimba and Wikki was postponed due to the former’s continental engagement, as they are just coming back from Egypt.
