Fayose promises EKSU new governing council

Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has assured the management of the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (EKSU) of his administration’s eagerness to constitute a new Governing Council for the institution.

Speaking during an unscheduled visit to the university, the Visitor to the University in his remarks at the end of the tour of facilities and ongoing projects at the university commended the management of the institution at the physical development and growth of the institution.

Impressed by the transformation of the campus 10 years after he left office, Fayose expressed confidence in the administration and management of resources available to the university.

The governor said, “Sometimes it is not about the volume of resources but the managing of resources.”

To this end, he warned indigenes and residents of the state to desist from sending text messages to him urging him to remove the VC from office, contending that the managers of the institution have performed well.

The Management team led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Patrick Aina had earlier conducted the Visitor to the round the various completed and ongoing work at the campus.

Beginning with the College of Medicine, Dr. Fayose who inspected the multi-million naira medical library was also conducted round the medical students’ hostel, laboratories and departmental buildings already endorsed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Medical Dental Council of Nigeria.

The governor shared ideas with university management also inspected the newly constructed school of Postgraduate Studies, the ongoing reconstruction of the University Library, the ongoing construction of Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculties of Science and Social Sciences.
