Hector Cuper, the Pharaohs of Egypt Coach, has expressed optimism on the chances of his side to defeat the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Alexandria today, saying the massive fans that will throng the stadium will give them edge.

Speaking to Egypt television ahead of today’s all-important match against second-placed Nigeria, Cuper said he foresees a tough match against the West Africans, both expressed hope that the 40,000 fans that would be allowed in the stadium will hold the key.

“We will have an attacking approach in Alexandria,” Cuper told Al Hayah TV on Sunday.

“We will try to create more goal scoring opportunities and to be better than Friday’s game, as we are only looking only for a win.”

Cuper said this after security officials agreed to allow up to 40,000 supporters to attend the match at Alexandria’s army-owned Borg El-Arab Stadium.

“The presence of the fans will give us an edge. It will be different in Alexandria [than in Kaduna],” the Argentinean boss added.

The former Inter Milan and Valencia coach is also not concerned by the withdrawal of Chad.

Chad’s results will be anulled after they withdrew due to “financial difficulties”. Leaders Egypt now have four points, two ahead of Nigeria and three clear of Tanzania.

“We are only focusing on Nigeria‘s game. That is more important for us,” Cuper said.
