An elder statesman, Chief Ojo Falegan, has reminded all parties in the ongoing imbroglio in Ekiti State of the need to allow peace to reign for a sustainable economic and political development.

In a statement in Ado Ekiti, Falegan said there is no alternative to peace for any society to witness reasonable and much needed economic transformation. The octogenarian noted that peace is a great catalyst that cannot be swept under the carpet in any society. He added that striving to attain greatness, therefore, all parties in the political instability in the state to see reason why they must all embrace peace.

“Since two wrongs as the say can never make a right, both the Governor and the state legislators should come together now and stop any further action or actions that can put the future of the state in jeopardy and backwardness.

“There is no other time to allow permanent peace to reign in Ekiti State than now because, the state had witnessed what can be best described as undeserved and needless political crisis in recent times as a result of actions or inactions of certain individuals in and outside the state,” Falegan said.

He said this development has greatly affected the state “and makes it look like we do not know what we really want in the comity of states in the country, hence people should learn how to make sacrifice in the overall interest of the state and its people”.
