The District Superintendent of the Apostolic Faith, West and Central Africa, Rev. Emmanuel Adeniran, has urged Nigerians to have confidence in the current leadership of the country, assuring that the Buhari-led administration will uphold the extant laws and promote good governance.

The preacher also spoke to allay fears exhibited in some quarters in the country that the controversial homosexuality issue could be sold again to the country in exchange for US’s assistance and aid during the just-concluded visit of President Mohammed Buhari’s to the United States.

He spoke recently in Lagos at the church’s Pre-Convention briefing to announce the annual camp meeting of the church.

The church leader, who said although Nigeria cannot isolate itself from international community, maintained that the president was aware there was legislation against homosexuality.

Adeniran said, “The president is aware there is a law against homosexuality in the country. He will continue to defend the law and oath he sworn to. Nigerians should not be afraid of compromise.

We should have faith in our leadership. We should support the president with our prayers. God has great agenda for the nation. We should not entertain fear when our leaders interact with other leaders of other nation because they are men of integrity.”

According to the church leader, the annual camp meeting which holds between 2nd and 23rd August, 2015, with the theme “The glory that awaits the righteous,” is the flagship of the church’s annual calendar.

“It also marks the close of the current spiritual year and the commencement of the new year after camp”, he said.

The cleric noted that delegates are expected from different parts of Africa, Europe, America and other parts of the world for the programme, stressing that the period is crucial to the spiritual development of members and that the theme of the gathering was inspired of the Holy Spirit.

He added that the camp meeting will feature bible-based and inspired teaching on healthy marriage and family life, godly entrepreneurship principles and practices and how to face the challenge of living in an increasingly difficult world.

While the assuring that the church will use the event to pray for the nation, he urged Nigerians take advantage of the event to seek the face of God for both personal and national blessing.
