EX-MILITANTS general under the auspices of Urhobo Gbagbako Tuesday called on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration of to restructure the Presidential Amnesty program with a view to accommodating those who surrendered arms and issued JTF certificates but have not been documented for payment and training.

The group which alleged that that their payment was being collected through the back door by a cartel at the Amnesty office, said since the inception of President Buhari administration, there has been emphasis on the scrapping of the amnesty program and the Oil Pipeline Surveillance Contract job, which the group said it is the only benefit of the Niger Delta youths.

The group said, “There has not been any mention of oil blocs being allocated to a few highly placed individuals outside Niger Delta region or plans by the federal government to ameliorate the continuous despoliation of the Niger Delta environment with unending exploration and exploitation of our crude oil.

“No one has talked about relocating the head offices of oil producing companies from Lagos and Abuja to the Niger Delta region. Our president must be reminded that the Niger Delta Amnesty program was not initiated by the late President Yar’Adua administration because of his love for the Niger Delta but because of its mass production.

“If the essence of the scrapping of the Amnesty and pipeline surveillance program is to save cost, what has the Buhari administration planned to do in order to cushion the negative impact over the exploitation of oil in the Niger Delta region.
