FORMER governor of Nasarawa State, Aliyu Akwe Doma, has lost his elder sister, Hajiya Amina Abare.

She died on Monday May 18, 2015 after a short illness in Doma, the headquarters of Doma local government area of the state.

According to a family source, Madam Abare died at the age 105 years and has since been buried in Doma in accordance to Islamic injunction.

Meanwhile, members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the

Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) in Nasarawa State sent a delegation led by its chairman, Suleiman Abubakar, who paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family in Doma on Wednesday, May 20, 2015.

Receiving the delegation, Doma thanked members of the chapel for identifying with the family in their moment of grief. He equally charged journalists in the state to be agents of peace in the discharge of their professional responsibilities.

Doma described her elder sister’s death as a big loss to the family, but said the family has solace in Almighty God as death is inevitable to every mortal hence all should be prepared for it at any moment.

Consoling the family on behalf of the chapel, leader of the delegation, Suleiman, urged them to take solace in God as according to him, “God is the only giver of life and he takes it at any time he deems fit.”
