Former commissioner representing Ethiope West, Sapele, Okpe, Uvwie and Agbara-Urhobo on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief Henry Ofa, has commended contractors handling DESOPADEC projects in the area for their speedy completion of their respective projects and the high quality of job delivered.

Ofa gave the commendation at the inspection of the newly completed DESOPADEC, Delta Central, Secretariat at Orerokpe, where he expressed that DESOPADEC staff have relocated from rented accommodation to permanent offices.

He said that his success story could be traced to the cooperation he received from the members of the board.

The former commissioner enjoined the staff of the commission at Orerokpe to move into their new office immediately in order to enjoy the best facilities offered in the facility.

He also appreciated the Orodje of Okpe, HRM, Orhue I, who he said had used his background in the military to usher in peace in Okpe Kingdom for the accelerated development of the area.

In a related development, the former Commissioner has donated a Mower grass clearing machine to Adani Okpe Model Primary School in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State where he said the donation was in fulfilment of the promise at the unveiling of ‘Operation Excellent Achievement Award’ during which the headmistress requested for the machine.

Ofa, appealed to the school authority to make judicious use of the machine so as to motivate others to do same to the school.

Meanwhile, the people of Orerokpe appealed to the Delta State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to reappoint Chief Ofa, into the new DESOPADEC board when it is reconstituted because of his level of performance in his first appointment. They said Ofa’s performance was everywhere in his mandate area for people to see.
