All Ethnic Groups Will Enjoy Sense Of Belonging In Plateau’s New Administration – Governor-elect

Governor-elect of Plateau State, Hon Simon Lalong  has  called  on warring groups in his state  to lay down their arms and embrace one another and join his government  to  build a new  Plateau State.

He assured the over 53 ethnic groups in the state of a sense of belonging in the new administration.

Hon Lalong  in an interview  with newsmen  at Government  lodge  at Million Quarters  in Jos, said  any where there is injustice, crisis is bound to brew up, but added  that in the course of his  campaigns, all the 53 ethnic  nationalities  in the state and non natives  were involved  and participated in the election that brought  him to power.

Lalong assured them that his government is coming out with programs and policies  that will incorporate  all ethnic groups  in his state.

According to him, peace will be returned to the state; saying  his government will soon set up Elders Advisory Committee that will be  made up of prominent Plateau citizens  to advise government  on what to do to move the state forward, adding  government  cannot be an island unto itself.

The former speaker of Plateau Assembly noted that all ongoing projects will be reviewed before works will continue on them to their completion stage.

Lalong also  disclosed  that he is not going  to start from the newly  built  multi billion naira   Rayfield Government House, as  there  are other Government Houses  that are on ground in Jos, the state capital.

Lalong queried the alleged sum of over N15 billion spent on the new Plateau Government House that the project is still ongoing.

He added that he is going to set a team to review the contract sum before any other decision can be taken on that complex since it is a plateau government property.

He charged workers in his state to be patient with him to allow him settle down after taking over power tomorrow to source for money to clear their salary arrears, saying that workers welfare is on first line charge of his administration.
