Enyimba Stranded In Tunisia

Enyimba International FC of Aba is stranded in Tunisia after securing CAF Champions League group phase ticket on Wednesday.
The Nigerian side beat Etoile du Sahel 4-3 on penalties after the legged match ended 3-3.
According reports, Enyimba ran into problems in Tunisia due to flight delay by Moroc Air.
Speaking with Felix Anyansi Agwu, the club Chairman, on phone from Tunis on Thursday, he said that the airline had rescheduled their flight from Thursday to Saturday.
“We cannot come back as we planned because our flight has been rescheduled to Saturday.”
This implies that Enyimba would miss its Week 13 Sunday clash against Akwa United of Uyo at Nest of Champions.
Commenting on Enyimba’s progress to the money spinning stage, Anyansi expressed joy and predicted that it was a harbinger good thing ahead in the championship for Enyimba.
“We are happy to have made it to the group stage and I think everything is now a possibility for us in this championship,” he said.
Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia has congratulated Enyimba for qualifying for the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
In a congratulatory letter to Felix Anyansi Agwu, the Enyimba Chairman, Chief Emeka Inyama , Abia Warriors Chairman, noted that Enyimba’s latest victory, has once again placed Abia State on the Sporting map of Africa and demonstrates that their emergence as Nigeria’s champions in last season’s league was no fluke.
He said that the qualification was a result of hard work, determination and resilience and urged the team to continue with the same spirit to enable it win the trophy.
