Kano Pillars and Enyimba Football Club of Aba were knocked out of this year’s Federation Cup, round of 32, on Wednesday.

Pillars, the current Glo Premier League champions, lost 4-2 on penalties to Plateau United, after regulation time ended in a goalless draw.

Enyimba, Federation Cup winners in the last two years, crashed out after losing 3-1 on penalties to second-tier side Remo Stars. The teams were drawn 1-1 after 90 minutes.

In another fixture that saw two NPFL sides squaring up, Heartland edged out Sharks 1-0, while Rangers thrashed Kukuruku FC 3-0.

In other results, Prime FC advanced 5-3 via a penalty shootout (both teams played 1-1 during 120 minutes); Kwara United had to also rely on spot kicks to see off ABU 5-3, while Lobi Stars pipped Niger Tornadoes by a lone goal.
