Retired Super Eagles goalkeeper and captain, Vincent Enyeama has set sights on winning the Coupe de la Ligue this year.
Enyeama, who remains the most capped player in the colours of the senior national team, was the hero as Lille progressed to the semi final of the competition after beating En Avant Guingamp 4-2 on penalties. The game which had ended goalless after 90 minutes saw him produced a sublime saves to prevent Guingamp from scoring, most especially Yannis Salibur and Jimmy Briand’s drive in the 22nd minute.
The former Enyimba goalie made two penalties saves to keep his team’s hope of ending the season with a laurel regardless of the fact that cup holders, PSG are still in the race.
He revealed that God was his inspiration for saving from 12 yards.
“God is my secret for saving penalties. It will make me pleased if we can win the trophy.
“I believe in God and it will be a dream to play at the Stade de France,” he said.
