The recent poor run by Rangers International FC of Enugu is beginning to raise eye brows as the head coach, Kelechi Emeteole’s job may be on the line, if the situation does not improve with the next few games.

The ugly development gets to a climax when the Flying Antelopes in Week 4 home game lost 0-1 to visiting Giwa FC at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

Commenting on the position of the club, the Technical Consultant, Christian Chukwu said, “Rangers performance in this season is disappointing and they will return to struggling again to survive.”

However, the Former Super Eagles handler was quick to defend the team saying, “Let me be honest the team is very good in terms of playing good football, but luck is not just on its side at all.

“Against Giwa FC on Sunday, the team hit the upright and side-right four times and had firm control of the ball, though Giwa FC converted its only opportunity. It was a free kick that resulted in goal mouth scramble,” Chukwu explained.

On whom to blame and the faith of the coach (Emeteole) Chukwu was philosophical saying, “It is too early to start trading blames because that will affect the team spirit, but when a team is not doing fine the coach always receive the blame.”

Against this backdrop he concluded, “Let’s give them some time and if the situation does not improve the technical crew will be warned and given three match ultimatum to win home and away.”

It would be recalled Rangers has won only one match out of four with only three points since the league commenced.
