Warri Wolves will today host El Kanemi Warriors in one of the league reschedule league matches at the Warri Township Stadium.

This game was postponed during Wolves CAF Confederations Cup campaign earlier in the season.

The match will be explosive because Wolves is not only eager to garner points, but wants to consolidate its week 19 home victory over Sharks. On the other hand, the visitors are fighting hard to avoid the drop zone, and also to avoid another defeat having lost 2-1 to Shooting Stars of Ibadan also at Week 19.

At the moment, Wolves frontline seemed to be very potent with the combination of Sikiru Alimi, Abu Azeez and Gbolahon Salami which has been paying off in recent times.

Against Sharks in Week 19 encounter, it was Alimi and Azeez that gave Wolves the maximum points and against Enyimba in Week 18, it was Salami and Azeez that ended Enyimba 9-match unbeaten run in Warri.

It is believed that it would be tactically healthy for Wolves coach, Paul Aigbogun, to maintain the formation ostensibly to achieve the desired result at the end of the day.

For the Maiduguri side, not much is known of the team’s tactical strength since the exit of the Technical Adviser, Salisu Yesuf, who is now with Super Eagles.

However, Wolves would be making a very big mistake if El Kanemi is underrated as the present NPFL seemed to have overcome “win at home syndrome.”
