A women group in Ikere EkitI, Ikere Women Front (lWF), and the Regent of the town, Princess Oyinlola Ayooye are engaged in a verbal war over the lingering crisis over vacant stool of Ogoga

The group in statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, accused the Regent of complicity in the alleged plot to halt the installation of the new Ogoga of Ikere.

It blamed the recent kingship protest in the community on the desperation of the Akayejo Ruling House led by the regent, Princess Oyinlola Ayooye to impose its stooge as the next ‘Oba’ of the town through violent means.

But the Regent, in a swift reaction refuted the allegations saying she knew nothing about the Obaship tussle.

She said her father’s ruling house, Akayejo, was not involved in the crisis.

‘ I am not involved in the matter in any way and nobody should attempt to spoil the good name and reputation of my father. I am a teacher and I am ready to return to my job as soon as new Ogoga is installed. Whoever tries to soil my father’s name in this matter will not end well.” The regent threatened.

The enraged Regent also clarified that the Palace is an open place which all indigenes have access to either to complain of rejoice .So, if anybody or group is seen in the Palace, I don’t think it would be fair for anyone to say we brought them in.

All these, notwithstanding, the leader of the group, Mrs Ogunlade Ilori who accused  the Regent for sponsoring a campaign against the state government and the personality of the state Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose over the obaship tussle said that the Regent and her cohorts had become drunk by the largesse of office and were ready to  exchange the peace of the town for chaos in order to elongate her tenure .
