As Muslim faithful celebrate this year’s Eid-el Kabir, Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar, has enjoined residents of the state to always live in peace with one another irrespective of religious and ethnic differences.

Abubakar said this in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Yakubu Ibn Mohammed, stressing the need for a committed relationship with Almighty Allah.

He said, “Joyous as this occasion is, it also gives us the opportunity to do some soul-searching with a view to improving the relationships between us and the Almighty Allah on one hand and that between us and our fellow humans on the other.

“This in addition to the symbolism of sacrifice is part of the essence of Eid-el-Kabir. For us in Bauchi, the essence is significant, coming at a time when all hands are required to be on deck as we strive to rebuild from the ashes of a disastrous period of governance.

“In this our noble quest, the spirit of sacrifice and unalloyed commitment to the general good are vital.”

He re-iterated the commitment of the All Progressives Congress-led administration to develop the state saying, “We as a government are determined to work with the people in our concerted resolve to move the state forward.

“As I congratulate you all on this joyous occasion, I urge you to be extra vigilant and security-conscious so that our celebration and determination to move our state forward are not impeded and frustrated by those whose primary pre-occupation is to inflict pain and cause disharmony.

“Insha  Allah our collective good will triumph over

their diabolical schemes,” the governor said.
