There are strong indications that one Suleiman Yerima, a businessman who was remanded at Kirikiri prison in Apapa, Lagos by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), allegedly slumped and died during Ramadan prayers on Friday, July 24, 2015.

Though Wilson Uwujaren, image maker for the anti-graft agency could not be reached for official confirmation, insider sources disclosed that the businessman was dealing in foreign exchange business.

The sources said the man died last Friday during the end of Ramadan fasting prayers on the Muslim Praying Ground in Kirikiri prison, Lagos.

He was said to have suddenly slumped while prayers were ongoing and was subsequently rushed to the medical facility by prisons officials and the visiting imams, where he was later pronounced dead.

Although results of the autopsy on the corpse was still being awaited, Yerima is suspected to have died of natural causes as preliminary examinations showed that he suffered a cardiac arrest which led to his slumping during the prayers.
