Iwere Development Initiative (IDI), an Itsekiri group, has absolved Engr. Victor Wood, the Executive Director of Research, Planning and Statistics in the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) of involvement in a purported petition written to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, the immediate past Governor of Delta State; Hon. Michael Diden, the member representing Warri North Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly; and Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, the current member representing Itsekiri Ethnic Nationality in the Board of DESOPADEC.
The group in a statement signed by Misan Tsegbeyeri, its Chairman; Clifford Abeson, Secretary; berated those accusing Engr.  Wood of conniving with Prof. Itse Sagay to petition against personalities, noting that “even though Engr. Victor Wood is a member of Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, he has never met Prof. Itse Sagay let alone conniving with him to write petition against Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Hon. Michael Diden and others to the EFCC.”
The group said those behind the allegation were “hell bent on tarnishing the impeccable reputation of Engr. Wood against Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta State governor, Clifford Abeson,  the Itsekiri nation and the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli.”
