Port Harcourt – The peaceful and rancour-free governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo State chapter has been commended by the Rivers State chapter which stated that it was a clear proof that the party was united and poised to take over the Federal Government from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in 2019.

Felix Obuah, Chairman of Rivers State chapter of the party ,who made this observation while reacting to the outcome of the just concluded Edo PDP governorship primaries, held on Monday congratulated Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu for emerging victorious in the keenly contested primaries, describing his victory as well deserved.

According to him, Pastor Ize-Iyamu had a track record of winning streaks wherever he finds himself irrespective of political affiliation and believes that the PDP offers such a genus the best platform to showcase his potential.

Bro Obuah noted that Edo State will naturally key into the comity of PDP controlled states of the South/South region with a man of Pastor Ize-Iyamu’s calibre and popularity.

The Rivers State PDP boss reiterated the readiness of the Governor Nyesom Wike-led government and that of other PDP controlled states across the country to rally round the Edo PDP governorship flag-bearer to win the September 10, 2016 governorship election in the state.

While urging the Edo PDP helmsman to borrow a leaf from Governors Wike and Seriake Dickson and go all out to conquer in the September 10 election, Obuah also enjoined the PDP members and the Edo people in general to embrace the new wind of real change in Edo and mobilize their people for the incoming PDP government in their State.

“The first task,” he advised, “is to take advantage of the voter registration exercise in lieu of the September 10, 2016 governorship election and ensure that they register in their wards and units so as not to create room for the APC to stay in office a day longer than the December deadline to quit office in Edo State.

“The entire PDP across the country is  solidly behind you and pray that the landmark achievements in Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and elsewhere in the country will be replicated in Edo come September 10, 2016,” Obuah declared.
