EDO State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assembled a team of lawyers to challenge the outcome of last week National Assembly elections in Akoko-Edo, Owan –East and Etsako-West local governments in the law courts, alleging that elections in the areas were  fraught with irregularities and malpractices.

PDP Chairman in Edo State, Chief Dan Orbih who disclosed this while addressing journalists in Benin on Wednesday specifically mentioned the situation in Akoko-Edo local government area where he alleged that the candidate of one of the parties brought in over 4000 votes from his ward with his own hands to INEC collation centre in the area.

He said that this was unaccepted to the PDP as the said candidate was never an INEC staff.

He said that the situation was not different in Owan-East and Etsako-West local government areas where electoral malpractice such as the falsification of results and thumb printing were the order of the day.

While congratulating PDP elected members in the National Assembly over their elections, he disclosed that his party won 15 of the 17 local governments declared in the Presidential election.
