Benin – No fewer than 161 delegates led by their leaders in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State have unanimously appended their signatures to endorse Mr Godwin Obaseki as their sole candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for the September 10 governorship election in the state.

APC Deputy Leader of the local government, Chief Akenwe, who announced the endorsement on Tuesday in Benin City, commended Obaseki for his steadfastness, assuring him that they will not disappoint him as he had been reported to be more outstanding among the multitude of aspirants.

The leaders and Delegates from the 13 wards of the Local government, who were led by the Chairman of the Ovia APC, Comrade Benson Edosomwan, said they had looked at all the aspirants in the race and have found Obaseki more worthy of the governorship seat as he has put in his resources and time to serve the state in the last seven and half years.

Comrade Edosomwan pointed out that the confidence repose in him by delegates of the local government area was 100% and assured him that they would be solidly behind him to ensure he emerges as the next governor.

He noted that 161 out of 186 Delegates had appended their signature to the endorsement of the aspirant, describing the event as historic.

According to him, “The delegates of Ovia North East have resolved to speak with one voice. We are speaking and making it loud and clear what we want to do today is historic.”
