Benin – Edo State Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Egberamwen Odubu, on Wednesday declared his intention to contest the September 10 governorship election, assuring that those trying to drive a wedge between him and his principal, Governor Adams Oshiomhole, so as to create bad blood between them will fail woefully.

Dr. Odubu who used his public declaration to debunk the allegation of his attempt to kill his boss said ” the allegation to kill Mr Governor, Adams Oshiomhole is an old and tired lie concocted and politically motivated to tarnish my image in the eyes of the public
According to the deputy Governor, “these enemies of progress failed when they tried it  during my re-nomination as deputy governor in 2012, they certainly will fail again this time arround”.

“For me, nothing in this world is worth the blood of a fowl, not to talk of that of a haman being and I leave these enemies of progress to the all knowing God
“I know and I do believe that He would manifest Himself in this matter, in the fullness of time because time they say, writes the ultimate history and history delivers that final judgement” he declared.

While appealing to the APC delegates and leaders of the party to give him the opportunity to step into the shoes of his principal, Odubu said “given the high level to which Comrade Adams Oshiomhole taken Edo state, going forward, the state needs a governor that is game ready, one that will hit the ground running, I believe  I am that person by the Grace of God”

The deputy governor who called on those he descrbed as “faceless fellows” to desist from their campaign of calumny declared  “in this contest, I have no enemies but opponents. I have advised my supporters repeatedly tht they should be temperate in their language and civil in their conduct”.
