ECWA Trains 700 Members On Agricultural Production

The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Railway Local Church Council (LCC), Bauchi, has trained 700 members on new agric techniques as parts of its effort improve agricultural production.

This was disclosed by the LCC Overseer, Rev. Shuaibu Byal, in Bauchi while speaking to newsmen.

He said the training was conducted during the LCC’s two-day revival service at ECWA II, Bauchi.

Byal said the members were trained on new ways of cultivating soya beans, sesame, and groundnuts with assurance of high productivity, adding that  the members were also trained on how to effectively construct and manage fish and poultry farms.

Byal said the training was crucial, particularly now that this year’s rain has started falling and planting would soon commence.

According to him, the training was borne out of the need to empower and equip members with the necessary skills to enable them engage in best agricultural practices.

He said, “Most members in our local churches are peasant farmers, who engage in different agricultural activities, but often at a loss due to lack of knowledge and the right skills.
