Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, believes that the team is capable of beating Taifa Stars of Tanzania in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Dare Salam on September 6, 2015, without suspended star, Ogenyi Onazi.
Onazi will miss the tie and also the qualifier against Egypt next match due to the straight red card issued him in the match against Chad in Kaduna.
Eagles won the match 2-0 despite playing one man down for 11 minutes.

However, Ighalo said that Onazi’s absence would not be a reason why the team would not pick the three points in Dare Salam. “He made mistakes and apologised to the team but certainly he’d be missed in the next set of games.

“Am sure we have players who can deputise for him. So we’ll keep working hard together, remain focused and get good results without him,” Ighalo said.

Meanwhile, Efe Sodje, has warned Stephen Keshi against using fringe players to prosecute the team’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Sodje wants Keshi to name a very strong squad that would instill fear in its group opponents.

“The Super Eagles needs to push through the next group games and come out with the fear factor.”

Keshi should come up with very strong squads in the next couple of games and finish off teams as soon as they get out on the pitch.”
