Following his appointment as the official Youth and Brand Ambassador for the Coalition of South South Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, FOSSCCIMA, talented and popular Rivers state born artist, Duncan Okechukwu Mighty, has been unveiled as the official brand ambassador for the First South South International Trade Fair billed to come up from the 10th-30th April 2016 at the Isaac Boro park in Port Harcourt

Speaking during the induction of new members and brand ambassadors at the hallowed chamber of Port Harcourt chamber of Commerce, President of FOSSCCIMA, Prince Billy Gillis Harry, extolled the virtues of Duncan Mighty saying with the appointment he will embody the corporate identity of the Industry in appearance, demeanor, values and ethics.

According to him, “arriving at the choice of Duncan as FOSSCCIMA Brand and Youth Ambassador was not a mistake, but it was deliberately conceptualized in recognition of his exceptional personality which obviously has transformed to a source of inspiration to a cross section of our youths. Expectedly his promotional activities for us will lay emphasis on providing solutions for the youths to channel their youthful energies to meaningful ventures.”

Prince Harry explained that as FOSSCCIMA Youth brand Ambassador, Duncan will also sensitize, inspire and motivate young Nigerians across the Country starting from his home state, Rivers state.

On the trade fair, he said: ‘For this year 2016 edition, Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, PHCCIMA is the host as we are apparently in their domain. PHCCIMA President, Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji and his Executive council has been very supportive and helpful to ensure the event turns out a resounding success. Part of our main goals is to re-orientate our teeming youth from unproductive activities to highly productive participation in the growth of the economy. This will ensure stability in our polity. The Governors of the six south-south states namely Edo, Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Akwa-Ibom and Cross-Rivers have been supportive with Chief Barrister Nyesom Wike as Host Governor.

In his remark, Chairman, marketing, media and publicity of the trade fair, Engr. Lucky Akhiwu, said the multi-sectoral trade fair will provide an ideal and perfect business matchmaking platform for manufacturers, importers, service providers, traders, investors and visitors to meet and discuss business opportunities.

He said the trade fair will showcase products from the manufacturing industries ranging from food and beverages, garments, textiles and fashion accessories, footwear, gifts and decorative items, toys, health and beauty products, household and kitchenware, jewelry and stationery, industrial equipment, electronics, communication equipment and accessories to banking and financial products, insurance.

He further said that ‘despite growing concerns about the rapid decline in our foreign exchange earnings occasioned by the global fall in oil prices and its multiplier effects on economic development in the South-South region in particular and the country in general, we have received a high level of interest from the business community towards the forthcoming Trade fair. It is surprising but encouraging too.

“We are expecting over 500 companies from across the country and the West African sub-region especially those with existing businesses and business interests in the region as well as others wishing to tap and leverage her huge market opportunities and potentials,” he said.
