A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and member of its Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Hope Uzodimma, has cautioned those trying to stir fresh crisis in the party to sheathe their swords and remain faithful and loyal members of the party.

Uzodimma gave the advice in Abuja while speaking with journalists against the backdrop of newspaper reports of divergent views over the planned reform conference by some stakeholders.

Uzodimma, representing Imo West Senatorial District in the upper Chamber of the National Assembly said that the proposed reform conference is a good idea but that an ad hoc approach would not fetch the party full benefits.

Instead, he appealed to the party’s stakeholders to wait for the report of the Post-Election Assessment Committee which would be submitted to the National Executive Committee by end of September 2015; and which is expected to provide the party with a comprehensive guideline that would enable it work for the needed repositioning.

While commending the organisers of the proposed conference for their genuine concern for the welfare of the party, the BoT member urged them to exercise caution and remain with the team spirit for which the party is known.

He reminded stakeholders that a lot has gone into the work of the Post-Election Assessment Committee and as such, the party should strive to maximise the benefits expected from setting up the committee which is made up of trusted and experienced men and women with impeccable credentials.
