The Bishop of Osun North East Diocese, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Rt. Reverend (Dr.) Humphrey Olumakaiye, has admonished President Muhammadu Buhari not to allow the calibre of people at the National Assembly dampen his anti-corruption crusade.

Speaking with newsmen at a pre-synod conference held at the Diocese headquarters, Otan-Ayegbaju, Bishop Olumakaiye said that Nigerians are watching with keen interest in the calibre of people President Buhari would appoint as his Ministers and political aides.

He stressed that people of high integrity should be appointed so that his anti corruption stand could be meaningful and result oriented.

While noting that corruption is a major disaster in Nigeria, the Cleric pointed out that majority of people that surround President Muhammadu Buhari may not have the same stand as President Buhari on corruption, adding that “except the Senate President and others in the National Assembly come clean, people may begin to doubt the confidence reposed in him on corruption.”
