Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State will on Monday, June 15, 2015, embark on “a short break of seven days.”

This was contained in a Government House statement on Friday, signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson.

It stated that the governor would use the opportunity of the one-week break “to have a well-deserved rest after a busy period of political activities at state and national levels.”

It would be recalled that, prior to the last general elections, Dickson had frequently jetted out of the state, claiming to be mobilising  solidarity and support for former President Goodulck Jonathan, who lost the election to President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to the statement, the governor hopes to return “to consolidate on the restoration agenda of his administration”. The state governmnet thanked the chiefs and  people of Bayelsa for what it described as their immeasurable cooperation and support for the programmes and policies of the Dickson administration.
