Ughelli – Association of Okwagbe Youths in Europe (AOYE) have called on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to develop Okwagbe community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State by tarring all the bad roads, building an ultra-modern market and appointing indigenes of the community into the state executive council.

The group, which made the call while playing host to Chief Okiemute Oviri-Okwagbe in Napoli, Italy, stated that before the 2015 governorship election, Chief Okiemute Oviri Okwagbe appealed to them to vote for the PDP, promising that if Governor Okowa wins, Okwagbe community would be massively developed.

Comrade Emmanuel Ogheneruemu Sakpakpa, National President of the group, who spoke during the hosting, said, “Really as our political leader, we yielded to your plea and gave the PDP over 7,000 votes against the APC and Labour Party that did not poll up to 1,000 votes. But up till this moment we have not seen any development or appointment of indigene of the community.”
