Delta Undergraduate Arrested Over Unlawful Possession Of Firearms

Delta State Police Command in conjunction with vigilantes have arrested an undergraduate of Delta State University, Abraka, DELSU, over unlawful possession of firearms.
Detectives attached to Kwale Division while acting on a tip off arrested the student while his accomplices who are also students of the same institution escaped.
The suspect, Ode Victor, aged 25yrs, and a fifth year Business Admin student of DELSU Abraka, resident of Solid Rock Hostel Abbi, was arrested with a locally made single barrel gun cut to size concealed under a tricycle.
Meanwhile, two persons, including a 19-year-old student of the Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara have been killed by yet to be identified assailants.
Sources said the deceased were killed by suspected cultists as one of the deceased was stabbed with dangerous weapons at Umusam area of the community and later gave up the ghost, hours after he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
It was learned that the other victim, a student of the Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara identified as Chukuemeka Onuoha was shot dead in his family house.
Celestina Kalu, Delta Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, confirmed the developments said one Mr. Emma Onuoha who hails from Imo State and resides at 33, Isumpe Road, Kwale had reported that a group of boys had forced themselves into his house in the early hours of Saturday and shot his son, Chukuemeka on the chest.
She said the victim was confirmed dead at Brema Hospital, Kwale, adding that the corpse had been deposited at St Luke mortuary. Kalu said no arrest had been made and maintained that the police had commenced investigations into the matter.
