Delta NLC Hails Buhari’s Anti-graft War

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has hailed President Muhammadu Buahari for waging war against bribery and corruption in his first 100 days in office.

Briefing journalists at the secretariat of the congress in Asaba weekend, Delta State chairman of the NLC, Comrade David Ofoeyeno, who doubles as the president of National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the state, urged the President not to relent in his determination to bring looters of Nigeria’s common destiny to book.

He also applauded the way and manner the President has distinguished himself in the sharing formula of N521 billion, the recent N511 billion to the states of the federation and his directive to ministries to open a solo account with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The congress in the state said it has, therefore, position itself to assist the President in monitoring all monetary transactions at the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Delta State Government.

Ofoeyeno, who spoke after the 2nd State Executive Council (SEC) meeting of the congress said he has mobilized a 3,000 man rally from the across the 25 council areas of the state, as directed by the national body of the congress, to support the anti-graft war of the President.

According to him, after the statewide rally, similar convention would be planned in each of the council areas.
