Delta Govt To Take Over Rehabilitation Of Ese Oruru

The Delta State government has declared that it would work in collaboration with the Bayelsa State government to ensure the speedy recovery, rehabilitation and re-integration of Miss Ese Oruru, the 14-year-old who was rescued from a forced marriage recently.
Es, a resident of Bayelsa State who is from Delta State, was abducted in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, to Kano State in August 2015 by Yunusa Dahiru, aka Yellow, who converted her to Islam, married her and got her pregnant.
The position of the state government was made known Wednesday by a delegation made up of the Mr. Patrick Ukah, Commissioner for Information, Chief Henry Siakpra, Commissioner Special Duties, Government House, and Hon. Tam Brisibe, Chief Of Staff, Government House, Asaba, when they visited the Oruru family in Yenagoa.
Ukah, who spoke to journalists after Mr. Peter Ogunyanwo, Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, facilitated the meeting. he advised that the Delta State government should collaborate with the Bayelsa State government to ensure her speedy recovery.
The Information Commissioner expressed the appreciation of the Delta State government to the Bayelsa State government and the state police command for taking care of Miss Oruru at the Police Officers’ Mess, Yenagoa.
Ese’s father, Mr. Charles Oruru, along with his wife, Rose, thanked the delegation for the visit and said that his daughter would go back to school after the birth of the baby.
