The remains of the  Daily Independent Acting Energy Editor, Anayo Eugene Korie, has been laid to rest in the Ubakala kindred, Umuopi community, Ihitte/Uboma local government council of Imo State on Friday 24th April 2015.

The 54-year-old Korie died on March 15  on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway while on an official trip to Abuja.

With intermittent dirges rendered by the “Sir Jerry International Gospel Band” and torrents of tributes from various quarters in honour of the deceased, Pastor Christian Femi Ekpekhio of the Living Faith Church Isiala Mbano urged the bereaved Korie family to mourn like people without faith in God.

In a thought-provoking sermon at an open air service held at the family compound of the deceased, Pastor Ekpekhio reminded Christians that the greatest gift of God to mankind is the word of God which brings change, healing and deliverance which makes the life of a man meaningful.

Stating that the late Korie was a devout Christian, who lived a life worthy of emulation, the man of God said, “the life in you is not yours but a gift from God” reminding Christians that after death comes judgment which makes it absolutely imperative for them to always prepare themselves spiritually for death.

He explained that death is not the end of life but a passage unto eternity assuring that the departed Anayo is not dead but asleep.

Pastor Ekpekhio, who cautioned against living careless life, warned Christians, who patronise native doctors and juju men for protection, to desist from such a deceitful act stating that protection and security could only be found in Jesus.

Tony Jude Korie,– brother of the deceased, in a family funeral oration, identified his brother as a devoted Christian and the presiding minister in Winner’s Satellite Fellowship Centre closest to his house at Eledi Oremeate near Sango Otta Lagos zone.
