Lagos – A Plateau State High Court has given an interim order for the re-admission of Giwa FC into the 2015/16 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

This is according to a tweet on the League Management Company (LMC)’s official handle. In its order, the High Court ordered, “Registration of players on the basis of Giwa FC expulsion from the NPFL withdrawn. And Clubs have been warned not to feature them; beginning immediately.

Chris Giwa, proprietor of the club, in his reaction to the court order, said that, the court ordered that matches involving the club be rescheduled.

Meanwhile, several clubs had registered some players from the expunged Giwa FC including Charles Henlong to Wikki Tourists and Olorunleke Ojo to Sunshine Stars.

Giwa also said that the decision of the Jos High Court has justified his decision to allow the club remain in Jos for their matches, saying that the banishment was uncalled for.

“Unfortunately, those who believe that they will always have their ways threw players out of their jobs; some of them bread winners of their families.

“The action was taking without consideration to laid-down rules and thank God for the ruling of the court; at least it has justified my earlier insistence that the team remained at their home ground since there was no need for the banishment in the first place,” he said.
