Chairman of the Lagelu Local Government area of Oyo State, Oladeji Abiodun Peter, has revealed that elections will be conducted into all the 33 council areas of the state within the next four months.

He said the failure of the state government to conduct local government election in the last four years was due to the lingering court case on issues bordering on the State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC).

The council boss lamented that it was unfortunate that the opposition in the state, who masterminded the court case were the ones blaming the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration for not conducting council poll.

Oladeji, however, added that the state Governor Abiola Ajimobi, and the caretaker chairmen appointed for the local councils have brought tremendous development to the council areas.

Specifically, he revealed that since he assumed the office as the Chairman of Lagelu Council area, his administration has constructed a 300-metre road from Offa to Oluponna, and another one in Igbo Elerin area.

In the educational sector, Oladeji revealed that his administration has erected a 10-classroom block and Head Teacher’s office at St. Anthony Primary School, Ejioku.

On rural electrification, the council chairman revealed that he has donated three electricity transformers to different communities within the council area.

He assured the people to expect more developmental projects in all the council areas of the state from the Governor and APC during the second term of the administration.
