A computer trainee, Badejo Ayoola, 26, who allegedly attempted to defraud a bank to the tune of N2 million, was on Wednesday docked before an Igbosere Magistrtes’ Court in Lagos.

Ayoola, whose address was not given, is standing trial on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and attempted fraud.

The prosecutor, Mr. Oluwole Idowu, told the court that the accused committed the alleged offences sometime in October 2014 in Lagos.

Idowu alleged that the accused conspired with others, now at large, intended to defraud and attempted to steal N2 million from the Sterling Bank Plc account of Danium Energy Service Ltd, based in Victoria Island, Lagos.

He said the offences contravened Sections 21 and 409 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Counsel to the accused, Mr O. M. Adeniyi, urged the court to admit him to bail on most liberal terms.

The magistrate, I.O. Omotoso, however, admitted the accused to N300,000 bail, with two sureties in like sum.

She said one of the sureties must be a parent of the accused, be gainfully employed and have his or her addresses verified by the court prosecutor.
