Commission Trains 120 On Vocational Skills

The National Commission for Nomadic Education, NCNE, Kaduna State in its effort to improve on capacity development, has commenced training for about 120  people.

This was disclosed by the Director, Social Mobilisation and Outreach Department of the Commission, Mallam Mohammed Daniya El-Nafaty in a press statement after its annual meeting and Capacity Development of Field Level Extension Staffs, Community Leaders and Stakeholders for the effective implementation of the Nomadic Education programme in Kaduna.

The interactive forum, according to Mallam El-Nafaty, is to enhance field level nomadic education extension services delivery system as well as, create a common forum for interaction among the various stakeholders and front line workers.

“It is also to evolve best approaches to be adopted to ensure successful implementation and delivery of the nomadic education extension programme at the grassroots.”

Daniya El-Nafaty stated that; “building knowledge, skills and capacities of field staff for effective and successful implementation of the nomadic extension and education programme is among the objective of the workshop.

“This also includes, enhancing knowledge, skills and competencies of participants, strengthening their capacity to advocate, mobilise and sensitise the nomadic groups and all other relevant stakeholders to support the Commission’s initiatives,” he stated.

Also, the capacity development is expected “to train participants on the skills acquisition and entrepreneurship skills in the areas of advocacy, extension techniques, interpersonal skills, technical writing skills, herd health management, gender issues, literacy and life skills school mapping and monitoring, community self-help, leveraging resources and income generation”.

The Director Social Mobilization and Outreach Department of the Commission said the participants includes the management staff, all extension agents, selected active community leaders from the field and key officers of the Commission while the Commissioner for Education, Kaduna State is expected to declared the training open.
