Authority of the College of Education, Warri (COEWA) has announced its readiness to commence the conduct of examination for students at the college through the Computer Based Test method.

This follows the establishment of an e-learning centre, two computer laboratories and the digitalization of the college library facilitated by the Education Tax Fund (ETF).

Addressing newly admitted students of the college during the 24th matriculation ceremony, Acting Provost, Dr. S. Ebisine urged the students to brace up to the task ahead as the college goes digital.

She said, “Students can also have access to the web through the internet facilities available in the library. Therefore be informed that by the time you are in part three, examinations mode will change to computer based mode.”

Congratulating the over 683 new students admitted for regular and week-end National Certificate of Education (NCE) programmes, she urge them to consider themselves privileged to be part of the system following the low admission figures compared to previous sessions.

She advised the students against all forms of negative tendencies, cultism and absenteeism during lecture periods.

According to Ebisine, “You must shun alcoholism, hard drugs, anti-social behavior such as cultism, examination malpractice, fighting, and stealing because such acts of misconduct are likely to result in your suspension or outright expulsion from the college.”

She therefore assured them full accreditation and approval of all the courses offered at the College by regulatory body especially the National Commission for College of Education (NCCE) and guaranteed the genuineness of their admissions.

“The College which has grown in shape and in size following adequate infrastructure that has resulted in the  growing list of affiliation programmes run in conjunction with University of Port-Harcourt and Delta State University, Abraka.

“Nevertheless, you should not be carried away by the excitement of having gained admission into this reputable College, rather you must ensure that you obey the rules and regulations of the College and work very hard to achieve your academic objectives and excellence,” Ebisine added.
