In the spirit of togetherness, Yohanna Buru, a Kaduna based cleric, has visited the Nigger Rehabilitation Centre, Rigasa, in company of other members of his congregation where they distributed food and drinks to the inmates.

This was part of their show of love to their physically challenged Muslim brothers in the celebration of Sallah.

According to pastor Buru, “Sallah is a time of happiness and we have to make them happy by assisting them. We have observed that most of them even on Sallah day had to go out to hunt for food to eat.

“We felt bad and decided to cook for them. There is need to help those who need our assistance.

“We therefore call on government, philanthropists and wealthy individuals to come to the aid of these people who are facing daily challenges of getting food to eat”.

The spokesman of the Northern Blind Forum, Mallam Muntari Saleh, who received the food on behalf of the physically challenged, decried the hard conditions of his members while expressing their satisfaction.

He stated that there was need for Christian and Islamic scholars to emulate the gesture of the Christian group.
