FC Barcelona were crowned champions of Europe for the fifth time after beating Juventus in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium.

The Catalan side took the lead after just four minutes when Ivan Rakitic swept home from eight yards after a superb team move.

Alvaro Morata stabbed home a rebound after the interval to draw Massimiliano Allegri’s side level.

But Luis Suarez netted after Gianluigi Buffon spilled Lionel Messi’s shot, before Neymar added a late third.

Though Neymar was first denied a chance of giving Barcelona a third goal on the night,  the Brazilian still made his presence count with a goal deep into stoppage time.

The win sees Luis Enrique’s going on to  complete their treble chase and effectively lift their fifth Champions League trophy in a decade.

Barcelona won their fourth Champions League in ten years – and fifth European Cup – with goals from Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez and Neymar sealing a breathtaking final against Juventus. Rakitic opened the scoring in the fourth minute, finishing off a sweeping move in which all of Barcelona’s outfield players touched the ball. With Barcelona seemingly playing football from another planet, Juventus hit back after the break through Alvaro Morata. But minutes later Suarez reacted first to a loose ball to finish a rapier-like counter-attacking move.
