The Community Defence Law Foundation, CDLF, a grassroots based, non-profit, non-governmental organization, with the sole aim at developing the youth in education and bequeathing the youths with leadership skills, has lost its founder and chairman, Oronto Nantei Douglas.

Oronto Nantei Douglas, was until his death, the Special Adviser to the President on Research, Documentation and Strategy. But, OND as he was fondly called will be remembered more as a human, environmental and political rights activist, a very intelligent lawyer, was among the late Gani Fawehinmi- led team of lawyers who battled to save the murdered Ken Saro Wiwa and others in the days of Gen. Sani Abacha. A brilliant researcher, writer, gifted orator, hard sticker for hard work. No doubt, the entire staff, members and beneficiaries of CDLF will miss his good gestures. In his characteristics manner and strong believe in laying solid foundation for the youths, he led in the building of many libraries in different parts of Niger-Delta, Ekiti State, stocked with modern day books on all subjects. With his support, CDLF had funded the education of school age children in his community, Okoloba, Nembe LGA of Bayelsa State.
