Enyimba Football Club of Aba obviously has no advantage going into the second leg of its CAF Champions League preliminary second leg round against Vipers FC of Uganda on February 28.

Captain of the Nigerian side, Chinedu Udoji while speaking to Independent Newspaper in a telephone interview said the second leg match is a 50-50 affair, admitting that the two-time African Champions were undone by ill-luck.

It will be recalled that the Ugandan champions piped the reigning Nigerian champions 1-0 in the first leg played inside Nakivubo Stadium, Kampala.

“We played as if we were at home and dominated possession in Uganda, but the goals refused to come. We played better than them but football being what it is, we lost,” he said.

On the preparations of the team for the second leg, Udoji said the team is poised to win and is preparing hard for it.

“As am talking to you now, we are in Abuja already perfecting our strategies for the match. We will play Akwa United in a charity cup tie before heading to Port Harcourt for our opening league fixture against Dolphins.

Our management is really psyching us up, knowing that we can upturn the result and definitely we can do it against vipers.

As I said earlier, the game is 50-50 because they are coming with a slim advantage of 1-0 against us. That, to me, will count if we fail to take our chances, but we have resolved to pin them to their own half,” he said.
