The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos has implored Nigerians to be realistic in disputing the new electricity tariff that has since generated lots of opposition from different quarters, particularly the trade and labour unions in the country.
CAN Lagos Chairman, Apostle Alexander Bamgbola during a briefing to announce the 2016 Inter-Denominational Service (IDDS) of CAN, said that Nigerians should be prepared to pay the electricity bill recently hiked by the government and power providers.
While noting that he would never support paying for services not enjoyed, he said that consumers should be prepared to pay for electricity services.
He also urged the government to ensure they provide electricity supply across the nation in line with consumers’ demand.
The cleric stressed that failure on the part of the government or service providers to satisfy consumers with steady power supply would attract punishment from God.
