Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, says the forthcoming international friendly match against Congo and Cameroon in Belgium would bring out the best from the players.

Ighalo is making a return to the team having been left out of the Nigeria’s 0-0 against Tanzania in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Dar es Salaam early this month.

He said that the team would use this friendly to create a better understanding amongst the players ahead of Nigeria’s double header against the Pharaohs of Egypt in next year’s Cup of Nations qualifier.

“These friendly games are good for the team because we have to play together and gel together so we can understand one another better. So I think it is a very good step for the NFF to organise more friendly games for us,” Ighalo said.

“I’m happy to be back to the Super Eagles so I just want to go there and give my best and I will work with the team and the coach.” he said.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has named the stadiums that will host the two friendly games.

The Eagles will play DR Congo at the 13,000 capacity stadium in Mons, Belgium on October 8th, while the game against Cameroun three days later will be held in FC Dender’s Stade Van Roy which sits 12,000 spectators

The confirmation was announced via the NFF twitter handle (@thenff) on Tuesday which puts to rest questions as regards the match venues following the announcement of the two friendlies last week.

Sunday Oliseh will look towards the friendlies as he continues to tinker the team in preparation for next March’s double header against Egypt as well as the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Twenty four players led by team captain Vincent Enyeama have already being called up for the two encounters scheduled for Belgium next month.
