A fledgling pay TV station, African Cable Television (ACTV) seems not to be resting on its oars as it launched Cam card into Nigeria’s market with a view to redefining consumers’ experience.

It would be recalled that the digital station was the first to introduce Nigeria’s first card-less HD/PVR decoder.

The Conditional Access Module (CAM) Card is an electronic device, which equips an integrated digital television or what we call satellite Smart TVs to be able to capture and view satellite video channels directly without the need for a set-top box or decoder as it is popularly known.

However, as part of efforts to make the product accessible to Nigerians, the digital station has entered into a partnership with LG, the global giant in audio and visual electronics.

According to a statement obtained by our correspondent, the station has sold 5, 000 in just a few months since the partnership commenced.

While commenting on the new move, the Chief Operating Officer, Joseph Chitanta, stated that globally, new ways of delivering quality video contents are being deployed and as such Nigeria cannot be left out. He said that since they have promised to give Nigerians the best TV experience, using innovation as driver, the ACTV CAM-Card is just one of the many innovative services they are bringing for Nigerians.
